Have you ever wonder about the origins of some of the current strains on the market?  We did our research, and this is what we found out...
So much potential in something so tiny

4) White Guava

A bit less popular in mainstream cannabis, but no less potent White Guava is a pure indica strain with some hazy roots. A heavy hitter, with around 25% THC on average, the White guava strain would be ideal for patients and nighttime use because of its sedative and relaxing high. The strain is known for having almost instant effects as well. While some say that the strain clearly has a Kush phenotype, others say that there is evidence of the strain being a cross between Guava Diesel and White Hashplant.

Sometimes roots aren't that hard find, some times they are

3) F*cking Incredible

Yep you read that right, F*cking Incredible is a 100% indica strain with mystery origins according to It’s best known for it’s heavy body high which makes F*cking Incredible best suited for night time consumption, and the strains notable munchie inducing side effects. Being a strong sedative with potent relaxing effects makes the strain favorable for patients and is typically found around 18% THC. The F*cking Incredible strain first surfaced in the 1990’s and has since been perfected through breeding.  It’s predominantly available in the Pacific Northwest, and is rarely seen outside of the region.

Family Tree

2) OG Kush

While it may be one of the most popular strains in the world OG Kush is also one of the most mysterious strains in the world. It’s lack of lineage leaves the strain open to a unique debate, what kind of strain is OG Kush really? Most dispensaries often list the strain as an indica, while the many others argue that the effects and growing patterns show that OG Kush is a actually more of a sativa or sativa hybrid strain.

Rumors have it that the OG in OG Kush actually came from a funny confusion that happened during a conversation between two growers. The story goes that one grower was sharing a new strain he got that his source said was mountain grown Kush, grower’s friend (also a grower)  detected the recognizable scent of his own crop and corrected the man by exclaiming, “This Kush isn’t mountain grown, its Ocean Grown Kush, Bro!” Hence the “OG” in OG Kush is for Ocean Grown, or so the rumors go.

Maybe the beauty is in the mystery

1) Chemdawg

Probably one of the most infamously, mysterious strains, is the Chemdawg family. There are rumors abound about the origins of Chemdawg, and its breeder Chemdog, including that the lineage was created on accident and that the strain is the result of heavy breeding efforts. In the end though, we have this magnificent strain regardless. Chemdawg as we know it today has gone on to mother some amazing families including the various Diesel strains and wildly popular strains like Headband.
