The History of the Gravity Bong and How To Make One

What is a Gravity Bong?

The gravity bong (also known as a pail bong) is to a great degree, a proficient approach to smoking marijuana. The gravity bong was created in the late 1990's, and was made by stoners hoping to increase the dosage and impact of the marijuana they were utilizing. This, and other smoking devices, picked up footing and have become one of the most popular ways of creating a smoking device at home.

How to Make a Gravity Bong?

1. Acquire the right containers

  • You will need a 2 liter container (your average soda 2-liter will do just fine)

  • Get a bucket, pail, or anything larger than your 2 liter. Preferably, one that's larger than your 2-liter container and has depth to it

2. Make your bowl

  • Tear off a small piece of aluminum foil and lay it across the top of the 2-liter

  • Push it down to the middle, so that it forms an indentation in the hole

  • Scrunch the aluminum foil around the edges of the bottle so that it stays tightly

  • Use a push pin or needle to poke small holes in the area of the foil that goes into the hole. Make sure the holes are small so that your weed doesn't fall through

3. Get your bucket

  • Fill it with water

  • Take your container that you cut in half and stick it into the water

    • Your container should be resting 1 to 2 inches above the water

  • Load your bowl and screw on your lid

    • Be sure to put the container into the water bucket first, before screwing on your lid or your herb will blow right out of the bowl

4. Spark up!

  • Light the herb in the bowl, and slowly draw the bottle out of the water. The 2-liter will fill with smoke as you slowly pull it out of the water. Once the container is nearly full, inhale and breathe out.
