Stinger sent over their Stinger Buzz 5X Extra Strength Liquid in the grape flavor and their Stinger Instant Detox 5X Extra Strength Liquid in the watermelon flavor for me to review. Besides their popular grape and watermelon flavors, Stinger Detox also carries strawberry, lime, and blue raspberry flavors.
Stinger Detox has been helping people lead healthier lives by providing a whole range of detox products since 1993. Stinger Detox’s products help your body cleanse naturally and doesn’t hide or mask toxins but instead does a quick cleanse to undetectable levels within 60-90 minutes. The Phoenix, Arizona based company has set itself apart from competitors in the past decades by providing a superior detox in a smaller, more stomachable form factor.
The 8oz Stinger Detox drink bottle has become a mainstay in both online and brick and mortar shops around the world for good reason. Their products have a long history of efficacy and they have been creating the same products in FDA-registered facilities for years. Stinger Detox explained their tried and true philosophy to Slyng in an interview:
“Throughout the years we have learned what works for people and what doesn’t and if it’s something that was not working for us we immediately would move in a different direction. And I think for the last 20 years or so we’ve had working products that people like and they trust us at this point so we try not to change anything up too much.”
This Deep System Cleanser is formulated for “heavy users” which is a category in which I definitely fall. The Stinger Buzz 5X Extra Strength Liquid grape flavor’s purple box - in conjunction with the yellow Stinger mascot - gives me nostalgic LA Laker vibes, which is the main reason why I tried this flavor first.
For this particular batch, do remember to be toxin-free for 48 hours before starting the instant detox. I was curious as to what was inside these drinks, the Stinger Detox Proprietary Blend is made up of a blend of L-Taurine, Methylsulfonylmethane, D-Ribose, L-Lysine, and Niacin. The Buzz Grape flavor by Stinger Detox has 600mg of the blend and 7mg of Niacin.
Don’t forget to call in for more specific instructions! When I called in, I was greeted by a pre-recorded message that gave much of the same information as was on the box, but it was very helpful to hear it as I am somewhat of an auditory learner. A proper procedure, checked and verified against the Instant Detox hotline, is to be clean for 48 hours or more prior to “your desired time.”
When I opened the detox drink and gave it a smell, I was happy that there wasn’t an overpowering grape or sugary smell. I had intended to drink the entire thing in one go, but I found myself splitting the bottle up in 3 separate gulps to savor the flavor a little bit. The deepness of the purple and the taste of the familiar artificial grape flavor was right on - the perfect flat middle between Grape Crush and Grape Fanta. If I wasn’t scared of potentially messing up the existing chemistry of the drink, I’d consider taking a Sodastream to the drink if I were to drink it again.
If you are above 230 pounds or are a heavy user, Stinger recommends that you double up and use two; however, you shouldn’t double up on the number of refills you drink. You’d drink the two Stinger Detox The Buzz drinks and then refill each one twice for a total of six full bottles worth of liquids. If all this water drinking seems intimidating - The Buzz is also available in soft gel form.
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 4.8/5
The Stinger Instant Detox 5X Extra Strength Liquid watermelon flavor’s green box makes the Stinger bee mascot stand out more to my eye. “5X Instant” is emblazoned on the side and seems to be the more popular brand since its introduction. The key difference between the 5X Instant‘s 5X strength and The Buzz’s 5X strength is that the Stinger Detox 5X Instant does not require you to be toxin-free for 48 hours prior to starting the instant detox.
As I’m sure many readers can relate, 48 hours is a long time and if there’s a way to avoid it - well it’s understandable if people seek it out.
Opening the bottle, I could smell the watermelon flavor right away. It smelled sweet and inviting and not like syrup or chemicals. The closest flavor I’ve had is a watermelon jolly rancher, though there is not the pucker-up sour taste that sometimes comes with artificial watermelon flavors. Instead, it’s a smooth, sweet watermelon taste that goes down easily.
You can even taste it a little still when you refill the bottle twice to down the accompanying amount of water as dictated by the instructions. Again, it’s worth emphasizing the importance of following the instructions to a T.
Unlike the regular Deep System Cleanser, the 5X Instant Extra Strength contains 800mg of the Stinger Detox Proprietary Blend - 200mg more than the regular dosage as well as 10mg of Niacin instead of 7mg of Niacin. For ease of mind and not having to be toxin-free for 48 hours prior, I’d suggest the 5X Instant over the Buzz. If you want to be extra cautious, just go with the 5X Instant - and if you’re on the heavier side or have a higher body fat percentage than average, it doesn’t hurt to get two just to be sure.

Stinger Detox products are a reliable way to quickly detox if you follow the instructions exactly. The key thing not to mess up is to make sure that you urinate at least three times between starting the detox drink and your desired time. There are some additional things to note with detox drinks.
Within 5 hours, toxins may come back. Before and during the use of this cleanse, you really shouldn’t be introducing any new toxins to your bloodstream - though I’ve heard anecdotal data of such things not mattering in the end. Additionally, and perhaps most surprising to first-time instant detox users, you absolutely need to avoid milk and dairy products.
