Slyng Vaporizer Reviews | S&B Mighty Vaporizer | Storz & Bickel German-engineered Herb Vape Systems

There’s no substitute for great German engineering. From Storz & Bickel—the industry innovators that brought you the Volcano—the Mighty vaporizer has broken new ground in the vape industry.

The Mighty defies all expectations and definitions of what a vaporizer can do while delivering everything that cannabis users have come to expect from a quality vaping product. Its mere presence may even present a whole new chapter of technical innovation for the entire industry.

Company Info

Storz & Bickel was founded in Germany in 2002 by entrepreneurs Markus Storz and Jürgen Bickel. Shortly after their founding, Storz & Bickel found success in the American market, leading to their American subsidiary Storz & Bickel America, Inc., located in Oakland CA.

Over the course of the next 12 years, Storz & Bickel would pioneer electronically controlled, handheld, and medical vaporizer technologies. In 2016, the company built the “first factory in the world for the manufacture of medical herbal vaporizers” in Tuttlingen, Germany, where they continue to lead the charge in industry innovation.

Storz & Bickel specializes in an innovative selection of vaping technology. LED displays, smartphone apps, and patented hot air convection heating are all unique technologies that set Storz & Bickel apart from their competitors.

Product Description and Review

Mighty Vaporizer

The Mighty from Storz & Bickel is not your average vaporizer. It’s unique design and functionality may be an overwhelmingly new experience for some users, but that’s definitely not a bad thing. Upon unboxing, the Mighty is a visually impressive, if not excitingly perplexing piece of equipment.

It’s mostly made of plastic, but it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy in the slightest. In fact, it’s immediately clear that the plastic is durable, and more for user convenience than anything else. The Mighty vaporizer box includes:

  • The MIGHTY Vaporizer
  • 1 Power Adapter 110 Volt
  • 1 Set of Spare Seal Rings
  • 3 Spare Screen (approx. Ø 15 mm)
  • 1 Liquid Pad (approx. Ø 15 x 5 mm)
  • 1 Filling Aid
  • 1 Herb Mill
  • 1 Dosing Capsule
  • 1 Cleaning Brush
  • 1 Instruction manual

The Mighty’s instruction manual is a nice, thorough booklet, with plenty of clear instructions and diagrams for the vaporizer as well as its accessories. However, the Mighty is very user-friendly, so most users probably won’t need to rely on the instructions too much.

For first-time Storz & Bickel customers, the most controversial thing about the Mighty vaporizer will be its size. The Mighty is designated as a portable vaporizer, but as its name suggests, it’s quite a bit more robust than, say, a small, discreet vape pen.

Since Storz & Bickel prioritizes quality and durability over design, I’ve been glad to carry a vaporizer that’s slightly larger than what I’m used to, even if I can’t casually vape as much in public. The Mighty is actually no bigger than most smartphones or phone cases, so it’s technically still “pocket-sized”. Plus, the plastic structure makes it pretty lightweight.

Mighty Vaporizer

After testing the vaporizer thoroughly, it’s clear that the Mighty’s signature heat conduction and convection technology offers a robust, reliable vape every time. The Mighty’s mechanics are also smooth and easy to use. After you hold down on the power button for less than a second, the vaporizer vibrates to signify it’s turned on and the clear LED display lights up.

The display clearly shows the temperature setting as well as its current temperature. The only buttons on the display are the up and down arrows for setting the temperature. The temperature range is from 104 to 410 degrees.

The fact that you can get a temperature to the exact digit is an unusual bonus. The Mighty takes about 90 seconds to reach your desired temperature and vibrates to alert you when it’s ready to vape. The vaporizer automatic shut-off after one is also effective at conserving battery life.

Right on the first pull, the Mighty offers a smooth, big cloud with a lot of air. Most devices take time to figure out how to draw on them. After a few uses, I found that this device really didn’t require a specific kind of draw. I pulled on it a few different ways and it seemed to work consistently every time.

Another big advantage of the Mighty is that you can use it while it's charging. We’ve all been in situations where we’ve taken our vaporizer out on the town with us, only to realize we forgot to charge it or change out the batteries. If you’re indoors and have access to an outlet, you can start vaping straight away with the Mighty.

The unit’s two-piece plastic grinder is the most prominent accessory in the box, and it works really well. I’ve had problems with cheaper plastic grinders in the past, but I decided to try this one out after having such a good overall experience with the vaporizer itself.

And Much like the Mighty vaporizer, this plastic grinder is durable, hefty, and really built with function in mind. It may be plastic, but it isn’t cheaply made. The Mighty also has a decent packing tool attached and comes with a sleek cleaning brush.

Mighty Vaporizer

Take away

The Mighty isn’t the ideal vaporizer for on-the-go public vaping, but the quality of its vapor can’t be overstated. The quality of its vapor may even categorize it somewhere between a portable vaporizer (as it’s most commonly defined) and a desktop vaporizer.

If you don’t mind it’s size, it’s a great piece to have on hand at parties or other comfortable locations. And for a vaporizer that takes both dry herbs and concentrates, it’s one of the most impressively engineered units on the market.
