Flower of Life CBD has been producing and providing CBD products for the United States since 2017. They are headquartered in San Clemente, CA and have a comprehensive outlook and strong stance on CBD’s potential to help users - as is evident in their company name. Flower of Life CBD truly believes that CBD and CBG help facilitate the healing powers to the minds, bodies, and souls of their customers so they have crafted a line of products that do just that.
Flower of Life CBD already has a line of CBD crystalline derived products including topicals, tinctures, soft gels, CBD for pet products, gummies, vapes and more. Flower of Life CBD is now offering high-quality hemp flower derived products with tested THC levels confirmed to be lower than 0.3%. Products include jarred eighths of hemp flower, which appeals to those that are looking to take advantage of more than just the CBD part of the hemp flower of life.
CBD is just one of the cannabinoids found in hemp flower that interacts with the endocannabinoid system which has receptors all over the body that utilize cannabinoids such as CBD. Another example of beneficial, non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in hemp flower is CBG (cannabigerol), which recent studies have shown to be promising for medicinal use.
I’ve previously had the pleasure of reviewing Flower of Life CBD’s vape and gummy bears and was very happy with the products. This time around, they sent their new line of CBD pre-rolls for me to try.
Flower of Life CBD Pre-rolls come in an airtight see-through blue container with one CBD pre-roll per container. The hemp flower pre-roll container features a sticker with the Flower of Life CBD logo with the strain name below. All of Flower of Life’s CBD pre-rolls use tested hemp flower and CBD kief that does not exceed the 0.3% THC limit.
The first CBD pre-roll that I tried was the Honolulu Haze. The Honolulu Haze is a sativa dominant hybrid that was originally derived from industrial hemp. Honolulu Haze tests in at below 0.115% THC and I found it to be the most traditionally dank smelling of the pre-rolls I reviewed.
Besides that powerful, almost skunky smell, I also noted sweet floral and fruit tones - definitely citrus and mango. The taste was just as great as the smell, and I felt relaxed and calmer with each puff which allowed me to get more focused on the show I was watching.
-Ease of use: 5/5
-Overall score: 4.9/5
The second CBD pre-roll that I tried was Paradise OG - a slightly sativa dominant hybrid that tests in at a very potent 24% CBD and well below 0.3% THC. Do note that in Paradise, the OG stands for Organic, not Ocean Grown. On the loudness meter, the Paradise OG had much more of a classic musky and earthy dank smell which was just as pronounced when exhaling as it was on inhale.
After smoking the Paradise OG pre-roll, I felt a much stronger than average relaxing relief due to the high CBD percentage that was also mixed with a calm, measured focus that I felt I could apply at will.
-Ease of use: 5/5
-Overall score: 4.8/5
The last, because I saved the best for last, pre-roll I tried was the Desert Rose CBG pre-roll. The Desert Rose is an indica dominant hybrid that tests in at a whopping 21.8% CBGa and below 0.246% THC. The aroma of the Desert Rose is a unique mixture of sweet and floral tones with a hint of fruity terpenes and its presence is welcome. I felt immediately calmer and less sore after smoking the Desert Rose CBG pre-roll and got to thinking about the possibilities of CBG and how it would already be widely used medicinally if the federal government could just reschedule cannabis already.
Scientists have known CBG to have therapeutic and potentially medicinal effects for decades now. In 1990, a study found that CBG “may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of glaucoma” because it was found to lower intraocular pressure in animal test subjects. A 2013 study on mice showed that CBG “attenuated” (reduced) inflammation associated with inflammatory bowel disease.
In 2014, a study noted the cancer-fighting properties of CBG, stating that CBG slowed the growth and spread of colon cancer cells in mice. A 2015 study on mice showed “neuroprotective” properties of CBG that not only protected neurons in tested subjects but actually caused recovery. As the evidence piles up, scientists around the world are excited about using CBG, by itself or with other cannabinoids, to combat neurodegenerative diseases, inflammation, cancer, and more.
Ease of use: 5/5
Overall score: 5/5
The great thing about CBD pre-rolls and CBG pre-rolls compared with edibles and even vaping is that the effects hit a lot faster. Sometimes that quick response and immediate relief is what users need. Once you start feeling the stress and inflammation relief, it continues to last for hours.
For those of us that are accustomed to the look, feel, and act of combusting rolled flower, Flower of Life’s CBD pre-rolls are a great way to do so without psychoactive effects. Flower of Life CBD features these CBD pre-rolls with many strains that test just as well as the Honolulu Haze, Paradise OG, and Desert Rose.
