About

Tucked away in the middle of the country, lies a state rich in history with industrial hemp. Dating back to the 1840s, Kentucky was once the nation’s leading producer of industrial hemp. Demand picked up during World War II when soldiers were in dire need of hemp for materials such as rope and twine. In 1943 alone, Kentucky farmers processed 52,000 acres of hemp encompassing 10% of the overall market.

More Than Just Bourbon
With soil fed by both the Mississippi and Ohio rivers, it makes perfect sense that Kentucky has continued to be one of the country's most prominent agricultural producing states. The same rivers that source 95% of the world’s bourbon are the same nutrient-rich rivers that feed our plants. With water traveling in excess of 2000 miles, it’s impossible to naturally duplicate such a unique water supply and soil composition.

Our farm, lab, and production facility have been granted special permission from the Kentucky Department of Agriculture as a member of their Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. With Kentucky offering such a unique environment and landscape, our CBD oil is unlike anything else available in the United States.

Roughly 1,200 miles due west of Kentucky, lies another state well-versed in hemp production. Dating back to the 1900s, farmers have relied on cultivation techniques passed down from previous generations. Colorado currently produces more than half of all domestically-processed hemp. With its recent surge in popularity, Colorado’s hemp production has increased to nearly 9,000 acres in 2017, up from just 200 acres in 2014.

Rocky Mountain Hemp
Draped with layers of snow-capped runoff, the Rocky Mountains produce a soil composition, both unique and complimentary to that of our farm in Kentucky. The varying nutrient profile creates a slightly different crop despite both farms growing the same exact strain of industrial hemp. Some might argue that all hemp is created equal but we know better. Testing various phenotypes, it's taken years to produce the current strain of industrial hemp we grow, low in THC but high in phytocannabinoids. Though hemp is typically an easy crop to cultivate, years of selective breeding have allowed us to grow something truly remarkable.

Raising the Bar
From aquaponics to the incorporation of vermicompost, our team of botanists and farmers are constantly testing the latest experimental growing techniques. Our labor-intensive process begins in the greenhouse where we sow each seed individually by hand. We closely monitor each plant as it germinates and is transported outdoors. Through our daily inspections, we examine each plant from top to bottom, looking for even the slightest imperfections. Scanning the leaves and regularly testing the soil’s pH levels allows us to make the necessary adjustments for our plants to flourish and thrive through harvest.

This extensive process is the only way to ensure optimal health is maintained throughout each part of the plant’s life cycle. From seed to shelf, this level of care is exactly why we’ve been recognized, year after year, for producing the highest quality CBD oil in the country.
